The Goal Keeper

Peace Wall

The streets were full of people, but Danny pretended not to see them, keeping his eyes on the ball as he kicked it to Ash and she kicked it back again. It was still bright.  They wandered down to the wall, the huge cement thing that stitched its way though the city, separating the estates.  It was at least five times higher than Danny.
“Why is the wall there?” Ash asked.
“To keep bad people out,” Danny answered, pressing his cheek against the cool concrete and staring up at the twisted wire which topped the wall.  Ash kicked at it.
“What bad people?  Pirates?”  Ash was six.
“Don't be stupid.” Danny said.  “You know well.  Huns, like.”
“Oh,” Ash answered, disappointed.  “That.”  Ash copied Danny, placing her ear against the wall.  “so are they on the other side of this wall?”
Danny thought for a minute.  It was possible, he supposed.  It was possible that two other kids were playing football on the other side of the wall.  Maybe there was another Danny with his own little sister over there.
“HeeellllOOOOO!,” Danny shouted.
Seagulls cried an answer at him.  Ash put her fingers on the wall, lightly, and looked up.  Clouds scutted by as if the dark, towering concrete meant nothing to them.  Danny could hear no other human voice.
“Helloooo!”  He winked at his sister.  “Listen.  Can’t you hear them?”
“No,” Ash answered doubtfully.  She was still staring up, but whether it was at the wall or the sky, Danny couldn't tell.
Ash pulled her hands away from the wall.  “It keeps us out,” she said.  “It keeps us in.”
He dropped the football and gave it a good kick.  It bounced back and he kicked it again in his sister's direction.
“You go in goals,” he said.

"Quale gente cattiva? I pirati?" Ash aveva sei anni.
Tipo i barbari."
"Oh," rispose Ash, delusa. "Quelli".
“Helloooo!”  Strizzò l'occhio a sue sorella. "Ascolta. Non li senti?"
"No", rispose Ash dubbiosa.

"Tu vai in porta". disse.

The Junction

The Junction

The Junction

A vegades arribe a un punt on no sé cap on tirar.

Sometimes I reach a point where I do not know where to go. The fear of taking the wrong choice does not let me decide and I remain paralyzed. Without resilience. I try to think. I compare the positive and negative aspects of each option. I stress the use of reason. But the more I analyze the situation, the more confused I am. It gets less clear. When I get to this point, I could spend eternity waiting for the decisive factor. So when a state of boredom is reached, unable to decide using logic, I begin to walk. Without thinking. Convinced that what my head has not been able to grasp, my feet will.

An Ordinary Day

Bilbao

Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain), is often associated with the Guggenheim Museum, an architectural gem designed by Frank Gehry. But Bilbao is much more than the Guggenheim; beside the top level cuisine and breath taking landscapes, one can get lost in the city to find ver nice and uncrowded spots.

Estraniata

Cómo he llegado aquí? No creo haber estado aquí antes. Alguna respuesta. Me habla:
"Ha salido una foto preciosa! Nos vamos ya a casa? Pareces cansada."

Sta arrivando qualcuno. Ha qualcosa sul viso. Qualcosa di nero che lancia lampi. Dovrei correre? Sembra che i lampi non siano dannosi. Sono solo luce. Lo separa dal viso. Il suo volto mi è familiare. Ripete lo stesso strano gesto. Si avvicina. Si avvicina molto. Mi parla:

"Ne è uscita una bella foto! Andiamo a casa ora? Hai l'aria stanca."
